Intelligence has been defined in various ways by scientists and experts across different fields. Wikipedia writes that intelligence is the ability to learn, understand, and adapt to new situations. This definition is repeated in several dictionaries.

Intelligence includes reasoning, problem-solving, and dealing with complex ideas. It represents the capacity for abstraction, logic, understanding, self-awareness, learning, emotional knowledge, reasoning, planning, creativity and critical thinking.

It is important to note that there is no single, universally accepted definition of intelligence.

We dedicated several episodes of our podcast, “AI Snacks With Romy & Roby” to the definition and formation of cognition and intelligence. Examples are Episode 3 (“Is There Intelligence in AI with Dr. Anthony Scriffignano), Episode 4 (“How Does Our Brain Make Intelligence”), or Episode 9 (“What Can AI Learn From Studies of Animal Cognition? With Ludwig Huber).
